I used to avoid buying this game because of negative reviews but now I'm enjoying it a lot with HOTAS joysticks. I can understand why many people hated it though, if you expect something like elite series or roguelike you'll be disappointed because this game plays nothing like them. It's basically descent-like 6DOF shooter but in open space with some RPG elements. you don't explore the world but beat each levels and you can't outmaneuver opponents like WW2 dogfights as everyone have full 6 direction movements, and the only thing that resembles roguelike is a perma death feature. But as a 6DOF arcade shooter it's a very nice one with interesting stories and settings. Since I don't like wasting so times exploring the huge or maze like world it's simplistic and small scale gameplay that many people hated is perfect for me. I think this game is a victim of wrong marketing direction. If they didn't advertised it as roguelike It would have got better review. The sequel is appearantly an open world game that I hate, so I'll pass that game,
